C61300 Overview

A highly ductile wrought nickel-free aluminium bronze with a nominal composition of CuAl7Fe2.5Sn.

C61300 contains 2.5% iron, which facilitates added strength and acts as a grain refiner. C61300 also contains a small addition of tin, which aids corrosion resistance.

The alloy is mainly produced in the form of plates for sea water applications and is also used in water condensing systems. It meets the requirements of ASTM B 150 C61300 (bars) and ASTM B 171 C61300 (plates).

Key features of C61300

A single phase ductile aluminium bronze with the addition of tin to give excellent corrosion resistance and low magnetic permeability.

Applications of C61300

C61300’s ductile properties mean it can be cold worked, making it the perfect alloy for components such as:

  • Water condenser systems
  • Pressure vessels
  • Heat exchangers
  • Bearing and expansion plates for bridges and other structural applications

The addition of tin gives added corrosion resistance.
