A continuous cast leaded tin bronze conforming to BS EN 1982-2008 CC496K. It can also be certified to BS 1400 LB1 CuPb15Sn9.
Will tolerate moderate loading to high sliding velocities and can withstand dust and grit ingress.
With the high lead content, it has good embeddability and requires a minimum shaft hardness of HB 150. It will also tolerate water lubrication.

| Coefficient of Friction |
Due to its ability to tolerate moderate loading, plus high sliding velocities, BS EN 1982-2008 GC CC496K is well suited for use in components such as automotive and aerospace engine bushes.
Although BS EN 1982-2008 GC CC496K can be soldered, it is not recommended to weld this metal alloy.
