A continuous cast leaded gunmetal to BS1400 LG1 CuSn3Zn8Pb5, meeting the requirement of the BS EN 1982-2008 CC490K C84400. A general bearing alloy, with moderate strength working under low loads and non critical applications. The addition of zinc aids pressure tightness and castability. Has less wear resistance than the non leaded gunmetals and needs adequate lubrication but has good embeddability.
