NA13 Nickel Copper Overview

NA13 (BS 3076:1989 / DIN 2.4360) is a single phase nickel-copper alloy, with high strength and very good corrosion resistance in salt and brackish waters. The alloy can also be cold worked to increase the mechanical properties.

Its ability to maintain properties at sub-zero and elevated temperatures up to 450°C (842°F) providing it does not encounter sulphuric gases above 371°C (700°F), enables it to be used in a wide spectrum of applications.

The alloy performs well in reducing acids such as sulphuric and hydrochloric providing there is no aeration or other oxidising media present.

NA13 (BS 3076:1989 / DIN 2.4360) shows high strength and excellent corrosion resistance in a range of acidic and alkaline environments and it’s especially suitable for reducing conditions. It also has good ductility and thermal conductivity.

Alloy 400 typically finds application in marine engineering, chemical and hydro-carbon processing, heat exchangers, valves and pumps.

NA13 (BS 3076:1989 / DIN 2.4360) is covered by the following standard designations: BS 3075, 3076 NA 13, DTD 204B and ASTM B164.
