A highly ductile wrought nickel-free aluminum bronze with a nominal composition of CuAl7Fe2.5Sn. C61300 contains 2.5% iron, which facilitates added strength and acts as a grain refiner. C61300 also contains a small addition of tin, which aids corrosion resistance. The alloy is mainly produced in the form of plates for sea water applications and is also used in water condensing systems. It meets the requirements of ASTM B 150 C61300 (bars) and ASTM B 171 C61300 (plates).

Equivalent Specifications

ASTM B 171 C61300
ASTM B 100 C6130

Key Features

A single phase ductile aluminium bronze with the addition of tin to give excellent corrosion resistance and low magnetic permeability.

Typical Uses

This alloy is ductile and can be cold worked. It is normally manufactured in the form of tube plate to be used in water condenser system, pressure vessels and heat exchangers. The addition of tin gives added corrosion resistance.

The alloy is also used for bearing and expansion plates for bridges and other structural applications.
